We're at the farmers' market, which is a couple blocks from our place. See those beets? I took some home but haven't worked any culinary magic with them - yet. This is more fun than shopping in the supermarket, and you can buy everything from fresh fish to citrus trees. You have to get to know the vendors........one booth had lemons with California stickers on them. In Florida.
Walking home with the goody bags. Gotta get one of those eco-friendly shopping bags. Too much plastic.
The supermarket can't compete with these colors.
Finally got around to making those Christmas cookies. Macadamia with cranberries. Not bad for someone who tries to avoid turning on the oven. Just shows how inspirational a little time in the open air market can be. And a little mother/daughter competition...........sample her cookies at:
